The 7-Eleven Cycling Team was a pioneering American professional cycling team that competed from 1981 to 1990. It was the first U.S. team to race in the Tour de France in 1986, helping to establish American cycling on the global stage. Founded by Jim Ochowicz and sponsored by the 7-Eleven convenience store chain, the team produced legendary riders like Andy Hampsten, who won the 1988 Giro d’Italia, and Davis Phinney, one of the most successful American sprinters. The team later evolved into Motorola Cycling Team, continuing its legacy of success.
